This came in the mail today . . .
Sorry for harping on the marathon, but it's been on my mind for the last 15 weeks. Actually, since June 21st when I qualified. You'll just have to put up with me for the next 25 days. Sorry. Do you obsess over things? I totally do. It used to be sewing. Now, I guess it's running. I can think about other things; work, kids, etc., but when I have a free moment, it creeps back in.
So, the mail was exciting, but it certainly made the whole thing seem more real. And I'm very nervous. Like hyperventilation-nervous. I don't know why. It's not like I'm (literally) in the run for the money. I should just enjoy the day and the experience, but I know me, and I'm going to want to be happy with my time.
Anyway, I still do (kind of) have a life outside of running. I usually do fitness classes at my workplace's gym at lunch time, super cool perk, but my, actually everyone's, favorite instructor left last week to go back to the daily grind (as in not instructing yoga, kettlebells, etc.), so this week has been kind of in flux. I used it as an excuse to seek out some local yumminess. I found Little Bigs and have been there twice in the last two days. Day 1: Maple Crueller (OMG: TO. DIE. FOR.) and Jamaican Jerk Hand Pie (Super delicious, but only had one bite before my son devoured the rest.) Day 2: South Carolina (or something like that) barbeque pork hand pie (again with the dying) and a raised glazed (square) donut (great, but not the Maple Crueller). It's kind of in a weird location and super small, but I highly recommended if you're local or visiting.
