I just finished drawing (and coloring) this, and I just love the way it came out. I'm so hooked on free motion quilting now that I find myself doodling at work to "practice" what I hope to do with my machine when I get home. Then I started wondering what it might look like if I colored in my doodles and added a few interesting stripes, petals, and circles here and there. Does that count as art? Now I have a bunch more ideas with the same "quilting" theme. If I can figure out how to make some prints or maybe cards out of it, maybe I'll list them on Etsy.
Today is such a great day! It's the first day in who-knows-how-long that I haven't had to drive someone somewhere, so I'm just relaxing and blogging. I put my 2 year old down for a nap and the other kids are happily chilling in front of their chosen technology (13 year old - football on TV, 11 year old - TV, 8 year old - Wii). I don't love it, but right now it's worth it for the peace. And if that's not enough to make me happy (sadly, it's enough to make me ecstatic), I did my daily check of the Sew Mama Sew blog to find out that my bread bag tutorial was blogged about there today (or maybe yesterday). I think they're posting every entry they get, so it's not like mine was "chosen" or anything, but it's still great to see my tutorial on one of my very favorite blogs.
