Wanna see my new fabric from my Black Friday trip to my favorite fabric store, Alewive's? We were staying sort of nearby for Thanksgiving, so I somehow managed to talk some of my family into going there with me.
Here's what I bought . . .
I' have an idea for a mustard and gray colored quilt that I've been tossing around in my head for a while. I was originally thinking solids, but when I saw the two mustard-colored Lotta prints, I just couldn't resist. Then I decided I just might want to throw in some of the orange for a bit of variation. Hopefully, I'll eventually actually make the quilt, so I can show you what I was thinking.
I think the other two fabrics will be some kind of garment for Addie. I especially love the Outfoxed for this. The fabric caught my eye immediately, and when I asked Addie, my constant fabric shopping companion, her opinion, she wisely said she liked it because it has purple in it.
I've been admiring the Meet the Gang fabric for a while. I'd been trying to stay away from the more whimsical, less practical fabric, but I fell in love with the red and gray colorway and the cute little people. Addie likes it too but demands that I make it into a cold shirt (because, said-in-a-whiny-4-year-old voice, "you always make me warm shirts and never make me any cold shirts". Arggh.)
I did, in fact, make her a very cute warm-ish shirt that I'm anxious to show you. I think I'm going to have to break down and use my camera flash to take the photos. It's only light out for a very short time before I go to work and drop Addie off at pre-K, but it's usually all I can do to get her out of bed and dressed in time - not exactly the best modeling mood for her. Then it's dark when I get home.
Hope you have a great day. Thanks for reading about my fabric shopping. Who knew anyone could say so much about fabric?!
p.s. I'm thinking about cutting up this shirt that I made last year for fabric for my mustard quilt. It's the perfect color. It still fits Addie, but I have to force her to wear it - she doesn't love it. Is that crazy?
