Happy Friday!

Don't you love it when you have the whole weekend ahead of you? I just got home from work, poured myself a glass of wine, and put on my p.j.'s. Aaah! (Yeah, I know, I really know how to party.)

I'm going to take the weekend off from blogging about Japanese sewing to actually do some Japanese sewing. I'm worried that I won't have nearly as many - or even any - tips about the rest of the process, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Japanese Sewing Tips - Tracing the Pattern Pieces - Part Two Here are the rest of my tips for tracing pattern pieces from your Japanese sewing books. Tip #6 - No need to go crazy. For the first pattern or two that I traced, I was really worried about complete accuracy. I ironed the pattern paper (low iron, no steam) and taped my tracing material on to the pattern sheet. I'm still pretty careful, but I find that smoothing out the pattern sheet with my hands and using a spare ruler to hold down my tracing material works just fine. News Girl I finally got a chance to take some pictures of Addie some clothes that I finished recently. This shirt was my impetus for buying this book. I had found inspiration in the Sewing Japanese Kids' Clothes flickr group in this example from harmonyandrosie and in this example from FlickaFish. Here it is on Addie. She's been playing with my buttons a lot. She's very focused on whatever she's doing with them. Can you tell?
