Hello Again.

Oops.  I didn't really mean to go almost 2 years without blogging.  Is anyone still there?  I certainly understand if you're not.

I haven't done as much sewing as I would like in the last two years.  My muse, my model, my customer, Addie, now has even stronger opinions now (at 7) about what she will and won't wear.  I tried for a while but lost my ability to talk her into wearing things I made.  It's fine.  I still think she's cute (her freckles kill me), but not necessarily baby/toddler-dress-her-up cute.

I got distracted from sewing and crafting anyway.  I've been running.  A lot.  I just reread some of my recent (as in about 2 years ago) blog posts and see that I was talking about starting Couch to 5K then and mentioned the Boston Marathon tragedy.  Well, I never would have thought that I would have run my first marathon . . . 

and my second . . .

and be training for my third since then.

Lots of other stuff has happened two.  We had a kid graduate from high school . . . 

and start college.  Whew!

I can't even remember what else - trips, dinners out, birthdays, first days of school, etc.

Not to mention that we've had three winter's worth of snow.

Thanks for reading!  I've been thinking that I wasn't blogging because I didn't have any finished projects to blog about, but maybe I don't have any finished projects because I wasn't blogging about them.  I'm starting to think that's the fun of it for me.

Wow! Welcome back! I just came here on a whim wondering what sewing you'd been up to lately, and see that you just returned to blogging on the same day I checked:) I've missed your Japanese pattern sewing! But I totally know what you mean, as my 7 year old is also starting to express her (strong) wardrobe opinions more and more, which makes for some outfits that sit neglected int the closet. I'm starting to think perhaps it might be time to start sewing for me - eek!
Congrats on all the running - to go from a 5K to a marathon is HUGE! Good luck with the training for this next one:)

Great to hear from you, Lucinda. So glad you happened by! I've been thinking about doing more sewing for myself, too. There's so much potential, but I haven't been that happy with the few things I've made so far. I just have to remind myself that I didn't get good at sewing for kids with the first few items either. Let me know if you make anything!
