These Ingeborg slippers were super fun to make.
I could hardly put them down. I really love the splash of orange at the cuff.
I didn't do a gauge swatch because I almost always knit loose - so I just went down a needle size. I used a 2 even though the pattern calls for a 3. They were really tight before I blocked them, so I think I could have used a 2.5 at least. The pattern calls for a bit of felting which I didn't do.
I wet blocked them, wrapped them in a towel to squeeze out the extra moisture then put them right on my feet soaking wet, and now they fit just perfectly.
It was fun to knit with this gorgeous Maine yarn from Upton yarns. It's naturally died with indigo that can rub off on your hands. That was actually kind of fun in a weird way.
Addie's new kitten approves as well.
The only part I didn't love was sewing the heel. With all the color changes, there didn't seem to be a nice clean line to make a seam. Next time I might try to do the increases and decreases a couple stitches in to see if that helps.
My house is way too messy, especially this time of year to go around in stocking feet, so I'm currently wearing them under my slippers.
And while I'm sharing cute kitten pictures, the kitten also really likes the pompom on my beeswax hat which was technically my first finish of the year, but I'm not counting it in my make 9. Love the hat and the pattern. I think I've worn it every day since I finished.
Happy knitting, sewing, shoveling.
